Spike
In Spike, you play as a fragile, cute hedgehog tearing out their spikes to use them as weapons. Spike is a demanding action game in isometric 3D embarking you on a path for revenge.

Summary
Spike was my master's year student project. We were a 10 people core team who worked on this game for four months along with our courses.
We wanted to build a fair hardcore experience with cute visuals centered around the core gameplay of a hedgehog throwing and reloading their spikes.
I was responsible for:
- Game Concept, Core Mechanics and Creative Direction with the other designer
- Prototyping the character controller and game feel and iterating over it with a playground
- Fleshing out systems designs on documents for the team
- Designing enemies in team, then implementing and iterating over them using finite state machines.
- Helping out producers by making several asset & feature lists for animators, programmers & UX Designer

Post-mortem
This project came with a lot of challenges, as we didn't have a lot of time to work on it and had to do it along with our research for an internship and our courses.
I think what I got out of this project was mainly that producing and game design are tightly knit together and that game designers should participate actively in producing discussions.
I am glad we managed to find design solutions to keep the scope reasonable, like creating procedural animation effects.
From my part, I learned to keep in mind the strengths and weaknesses of the team while designing features, and I didn't hesitate to land a hand in other fields when needed.
I also created tasks & prioritizations for programmers worked with them closely.
